Poker players to converge at the Bellagio for Festa al Lago V

The Festa Al Lago V culminates with a World Poker Tour (WPT) main event at the Bellagio starting Monday and continuing through Oct. 20. The $10,000 event is expected to bring in numerous pros as well as amateur players to vie for a WPT Champion title.

Minh Ly is already scheduled to participate and defend his title as last year's winner of the event, also known as the Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship. He pocketed more than $1 million for his win with Dan Harrington taking home $620,730 for second place, and Gavin Smith receiving $327,610 for third.

This year's winner will receive a cash prize and entry into the April 2007 WPT World Championship, also at the Bellagio.

"The Festa al Lago tournaments at Bellagio have been a tremendous success over the years," said Doug Dalton, director of poker operations for Bellagio. "We pride ourselves on offering the premier poker tournaments in the world. Last year's Doyle Brunson Championship delivered a spectacular tournament field and we anticipate another strong turnout this year."
