London native becomes first woman to win EPT London

Vicky Coren became the first woman to win the London leg of the European Poker Tour Sunday after outlasting a field of 398 players to win £500,000 at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London.

Victoria Coren, who was playing on her home turf in London, is well known as a poker TV presenter, a weekly poker columnist, and an author. Her EPT win adds to a growing bankroll that has been bolstered by regular cash game wins at the Victoria Casino. She has also done well in a slew of major tournaments, including a first place win at the 2004 Celebrity Poker Club on Challenge TV and two top finishes at the 2005 and 2006 British Poker Opens.

At the final table with Coren were Chad Brown, Emad Tahtouh, Sid Harris, Michael Muldoon, Jan Sjavic, Peter Hedlund, and Jules Kuusik. Heads-up play came down to Coren and Tahtouh, who is Joseph Hachem's good friend.

Other familiar poker pros who finished in the money include Isabelle Mercier in 16th place and Shannon Shorr in 21st place.

Final table results were as follows:

Place Name Country Prize
1st Vicky Coren United Kingdom £500,000
2nd Emad Tahtouh Australia £285,900
3rd Jan Sjavic Norway £168,600
4th Michael Muldoon Northern Ireland £110,000
5th Chad Brown United States £58,600
6th Jules Kuusik Sweden £44,000
7th Peter Hedlund Sweden £36,300
