Late Night Poker returning to television in U.K.

Late Night Poker is returning to television in the United Kingdom starting Tuesday at midnight on Channel 4 with coverage of the PartyPoker.com Late Night Poker Ace II and PartyPoker.com Late Night Poker Masters.

Late Night Poker Ace II will bring together 32 poker players who qualified online at PartyPoker.com to determine the world's best amateur poker player. The amateurs will play four heats of eight players with the winner and runner up from each heat making it to the final table.

Not only will the top eight players play in the Late Night Poker Ace final, they will also go up against some of the world's top pros in the Late Night Poker Masters. Twenty-four specially selected professional poker players including The Hendon Mob, Marcel Luske, Peter Costa, Tony Guoga, Kenna James, Surinder Sunar, and Ken Lennaard were selected to challenge the amateur players.

"The gap between the abilities of the pros and amateurs is narrowing all the time," said a PartyPoker.com spokesman. "There are some truly remarkable hands, lay downs, and table banter in this series."

For the Late Night Poker Masters, two amateurs will take on six pros during each heat of the tournament. As with the Poker Ace II, the top two players from each heat will move on to the Grand Final.

The winner of the Poker Ace II will take home $50,000, and the winner of the Masters will receive $100,000 and a Poker Masters trophy.

Commentary for both events will be provided by Jesse May, Simon Trumper, and Barny Boatman.
