Celebrity poker tournament raises money for Caucus Foundation

On August 19, celebrities and other members of the entertainment business came together for the Caucus Foundation's "Entertainment Night," which included a Texas Hold'em tournament to raise money for the foundation's scholarship program.

Some of the more prominent guests who attended the event were Jean Smart, who was nominated for an Emmy for her work in "24," as well as her husband, actor Richard Gilliland. Jennifer Tilly, actress and professional poker player, also attended the event with her professional poker player boyfriend Phil Laak.

The event, which took place at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, also included dinner, drinks, entertainment, prize drawings, and a silent auction.

The Caucus Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2000 to promote diversity of content and personnel in the entertainment industry. To attain this goal, the organization helps launch the careers of student film makers from various groups they believe are under-represented in the industry.

The proceeds from the "Entertainment Night" went toward the foundation's scholarship program which has awarded $315,000 so far to students to help them complete their thesis film, or television and interactive media projects.
