Popular Poker Television Host Gets Noticed
Chris Rose Elevated to Host of Fox Sports Bowl Championship Series
Chris Rose proves that in order to gain ground in the sports industry it helps to add a few poker achievements to your resume. Though Rose is not a professional poker player, he is a seasoned broadcaster better known for his role as lead announcer on Poker at the Plaza, the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament, and hosts the informative poker series FullTitlPoker.Net Presents: Learn From the Pros alongside Howard Lederer. Currently, Rose hosts FSN's newest poker series, MansionPoker.Net Poker Dome Challenge.
Rose began in broadcasting as a local anchor and reporter for KRNV-TV in Reno, Nevada and also won an Emmy Award in 1994 while at WXIX-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio for a segment called "Gridiron Gurus."
Ed Goren, President and Executive Producer of FOX Sports, announced this weekend that Chris Rose, the familiar face of poker programming, will now be cast in a key role as host of all pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage of college football’s prestigious Bowl Championship Series (BCS) this January. Assignments include the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl (Jan. 1), the Allstate Sugar Bowl (Jan. 2), the Fedex Orange Bowl (Jan. 3) and the all-new Tostitos BCS National Championship Game (Jan.8).
It appears Rose will be very busy, as he’ll also continue hosting FSN's popular Best Damn Sports Show Period.
Rose, a seasoned broadcaster, has an extensive sports resume that includes work as an anchor and reporter assigned to several high profile events, including two seasons as host of FSN's College Football Saturday pregame show.
Prior to joining FSN, Rose was a sports anchor and reporter for CNN and CNN/SI for three years. A fixture on the anchor desk, he covered a wide array of events and stories for both networks.
