Jennifer Tilly set to defend WPT title

Jennifer Tilly will be back to defend her title during the fourth edition of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Ladies' Night tournament.

She won last year after also winning the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Ladies No-Limit Hold'em event.

Ladies' Night IV will be filmed August 31 at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles and will include Joanne Liu, Vanessa Rousso, Anahit Galajian, and Erica Schoenberg. The sixth and final seat for the event will be awarded to the winner of the Bicycle Casino's Ladies' Poker Party Open which will take place Aug. 19 through 20 in Bell Gardens, Calif.

Tilly is the most well-known pro at the table this year both because of her acting career and her two major wins last year. She'll be once again facing some pretty heavy competition during the WPT event.

Liu is a major player in the poker world with an extensive poker resume that includes a WPT major event win in 2004 as well as nearly $780,000 in tournament winnings. Rousso is the closest to Liu in tournament money with more than $365,000, but so far no major wins on her record. However, Rousso has made it deep in several tournaments, including an eighth place finish in the No-Limit Hold'em Short-Handed event of this year's WSOP.

Galajian is well over $200,000 for winnings, and she also made a splash in the poker world this year when she came in seventh at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic. Schoenberg may not have the resume and winnings that some of these players have yet, but she caught the attention of the poker world when she came in 16th at the WPT Five-Star World Poker Classic, and she now has a WSOP cash to her name too.

Poker fans will be able to watch these ladies battle for the $25,000 entry into the WPT World Championship on the Travel Channel.
