Movie prompts Drew Barrymore to improve poker game

Drew Barrymore, who stars in the poker movie "Lucky You," plans to start learning more about poker now that the movie is done.

During filming for the movie, which is set at the 2003 World Series of Poker (WSOP), Barrymore missed out on the lessons given to the other actors because her character is a lounge singer who doesn't know much about gambling. Now that filming is done, she plans to pick up as many tips and tricks from the experts so she can go home and play better against her friends.

Barrymore hosts a regular home game with friends and members of her boyfriend's band, The Strokes.

"Lucky You" stars Eric Bana as Huck Cheever, a professional poker player who falls in love with Las Vegas lounge singer Billie Offer and is reunited with his estranged father, L.C. Cheever, at the WSOP. Drew Barrymore plays Billie Offer and Robert Duvall plays L.C. Cheever.

Robert Downey Jr. and Debra Messing make cameo appearances in the film as well as poker pros Sammy Farha and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson.

The movie is set for release Sept. 8.
