World Series of Poker Day 2 At Rio Dedicated To Doyle Brunson

The Rio honored one of EOG'S contributors and poker legend Doyle Brunson today. This was 30th appearance. Doyle was given the microphone and started the day's activities off by announcing to everyone in attendance to "shuffle up and deal." He was promptly escorted to his seat shortly thereafter.

The Rio also roped off an entire section, the center aisle of the Amazon Room so that it could be filled with friends and family of Doyle. Sports betting legends like Dewey Tomko and Billy Baxter, both of whom I know personally and have the utmost respect for were amongst this list.

Considered "the Godfather of poker," Doyle was also honored earlier in the week with a special roast and toast hosted by comedian Brad Garrett.

This second day featured other well known pros such as Mike Caro, Phil Ivey, Barry Sculman, Johan Juanda, Chris Ferguson, Evelyn Ng and many others.

They will play down until only 900 remain. The third and fourth flights take place Monday and Tuesday.
