PokerStars Turbo Championship of Online Poker daily round-up – January 26

So far there have been 31 events and $5 million in guarantees in the 2012 TCOOP, which makes it all the more incredible that the total prize pool to date is already $10,497,098.40. Check out the latest winners, today’s tourneys, and leaderboard movers and shakers on Pokerstars below…

TCOOP-28

An $82 No-Limit Hold’em [2x Chance] got the action under way on Wednesday, with 3,002 players vying for a big chunk of cash. The $150k guarantee was more than doubled, with $321,450 in the prize pool when registration closed. A three-way deal at the final table left $45,674.59 up top, which was won by ‘andthe’ from Canada.

TCOOP-29

Exactly 1,000 players in the $109 NL Hold’em [10-Max Shootout] made for a nice round $100,000 prize pool and the knowledge that winning two sit & gos in a row would put you on the final table. With a relatively flat payout structure at the final table, no deal was negotiated and the top prize of $18,250 was taken down by ‘twirlpro’ from Hungary.

TCOOP-30

For the $11+R PL Omaha [6-Max, 3x- Turbo] tourney that took place yesterday afternoon, there were 4,453 entries, but an incredible 24,589 rebuys! That’s what happens when you make the rebuy period three times the usual length. It helped create a prize pool of $309,630 – more than triple the guarantee. A five-way chop was done at the final table, which resulted in a first prize of $30,459.69 for ‘Rounder63’ from Mexico.

TCOOP-31

The final event of the day was a $22 Stud Hi/Lo tourney, with a $25k guarantee. That figure was smashed though, as 3,119 players combined to create a prize pool of $62,380. Team PokerStars Pro Andre Akkari managed a respectable 17th-place finish, but it was ‘barrako’ from Germany who took the top honours and $9,395.31 first prize in just under four hours.
