November Nine for 2011 WSOP Named
It started July 7th with 6,865 players and is now down to the final nine remaining players. The 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event with a $10,000 buy in will resume on November 5th with nine players looking for the top prize of more than $8 Million and the elusive WSOP gold bracelet.
Yesterday's action at the Main Event started with 22 entrants left of the huge field. After the first level of play was finished only 15 players were still seated and Anton Makiievskyi had the most chips. Before the dinner break three more players would be eliminated and not long after coming back from back another player, American Bryan 'Devo' Devonshire would be sent to the rail.
Ben Lamb, the current WSOP Player of the Year leader, would see his chip stack rise and fall throughout the evening but he made it to the final table with just a bit more than 20 Million in chips.
The Novemeber Nine include (in seat order) Matt Giannetti, Badih Bounahra, Eoghan O'Dea, Phil Collins, Makiievskyi, Samuel Holden, Pius Heinz, Lamb and Martin Staszko. Bounahra is the only remaining player over the age of 30.
About the November 9
Chip Leader Martin Staszko is from the Czech Republic and had 4 WSOP Cashes already this year.
Irishman Eoghan O'Dea is second in the chip count with just under 34Million chips. This will be O'Dea's 5th WSOP Cash. O'Dea finished 3rd in the Aussie Millions A$1,000 No Limit HOld'em event earlier this year.
Matt Giannetti has 24,750,000 chips left as the 3rd highest stack. Giannetti was the chip leader after Day 7 of this Main Event.
With the 4th largest chip stack, Phil Collins (no relation to the 80s pop singer) is a Las Vegas native and has been tweeting about his Main Event run frequently.
Ben Lamb is right in the middle chip count with almost 21 Million chips going into the final table action. Lamb is currently the leader on the WSOP Player of the Year board and has already won a WSOP bracelet in this year's series. He is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lamb also has a 2nd place finish at the 2011 WSOP and made the final table of the $50,000 Poker Players Championship event this year.
Badih Bounahra is the oldest member of the November 9 at 49 yrs old. This will be Bounahra's 2nd cash of the 2011 WSOP. From Belize, Bounahra owns and operates a card room.
Pius Heinz is the first German player to reach the November Nine as he sits with more than 16 Million in chips. This is the 2nd final table of the 2011 WSOP for the 22 year old from Cologne, Germany.
Anton Makievskyi is from Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine and currently is the 2nd lowest chip stack at the WSOP Main Event Final Table.
Samuel Holden of Sussex is the short stack of the November Nine with 12,375,000 chips left.
