Online Poker site files suit against WSOP
Everest Poker, an online poker site, has filed a lawsuit against World Series of Poker owner Harrah’s Entertainment claiming breech of contract.
It is alleged that Harrah’s broke a contract with Everest Poker to the tune of $22.5 Million. Everest Poker says that they were supposed to become the felt sponsor of the WSOP. Everest will also be pulling out of this years’ WSOP due to that breach.
The suit was filed in Las Vegas when Full Tilt Poker’s logo appeared on WSOP broadcasts.
Everest Poker claims they paid $6.2 million in 2008; $7.9 Million in 2009 and $8.4 Million for 2010 for exclusive rights to have their logo on WSOP tables.
