Dates Announced for National Heads-Up Championship

The National Heads-Up Championship for 2010 will be coming back to Las Vegas in March. Starting on March 5th and going on for 3 days, the Heads Up series will include 64 players one of which is the Huck Seed, the defending champ.

“It takes a lot of skill and mental toughness to get through a field of such exceptional players,” said Seed, who is the only player in the history of Heads-Up to cash in all five years of the event. “But I look forward to defending my title and trying to win it again.”

Seed is joined on the confirmed list by Daniel Negreanu, Joe Hachem, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, Vanessa Rousso and defending World Champion Joe Cada. Unconfirmed reports have double-bracelet winner Greg Mueller, celebrities Jason Alexander and Jennifer Tilly also in the field. Jason Mercier, 2009 BLUFF Magazine Player of the Year, has also accepted an invitation to the event.

Back again for 2010 is GoDaddy.com as the presenting sponsor. The domain registration giant joined forces with the heads-up tournament last year.

“This sponsorship works for us, in part, because a good majority of poker players and fans are also Internet users,” said GoDaddy.com CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. “And of course, it was thrilling to watch some of the most dominant poker stars compete last year in this championship.”
