Beach man held for possessing poker machines

Earlier this week a man in Myrtle Beach was caught by police and charged with several offenses related to gambling. That man had three video poker machines in his home.

Leon Curtain, 55, has been charged with unlawfully holding possession of gambling or vending devices and was also charged with three offenses of operating with no business license.

Police officers slammed into Curtain’s apartment and charged him with business violation and prove their charges also found three video gambling machines in the house.

Apart from these free poker items they also found huge amounts of sodas, beers and other items.

In defense Curtain told the police that he invariably sold sodas and beers and it was not at all connected to poker or any other illegal gaming activity that the local police were accusing him off. He said that the beer and sodas were there as his friends had come over to play cards, and watch a few ball games as well as play a few video machines. This was all said by Curtain in defense of what the police had laid down in their statements. However the poker gaming machines are illegal in the sate and it was for this reason that the police had seized his machines and the money that was collected inside the machines.
