Bellagio dealer arrested for stealing from poker pots

Cheating in the world of online poker has been seen several times in recent months including the story unfolding at Pit Bull Poker, but cheating in live poker is rarely heard of.

Rumors have been coming out of Las Vegas that a cheater was caught inside Bobby’s Room, the poker room at Bellagio. Bobby’s Room is an elite high stakes poker area located within the Bellagio Hotel. The Bellagio in Vegas is one of the premier high priced hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.

Sources have alleged that the cheating did not involve a poker player but an overly ambitious poker dealer. The gossip mill is running wild with this and some staff at the Bellagio have said that the Bobby’s room dealer was allegedly arrested from the poker room with two stolen $1K chips in his possession.

According to the rumors, a poker pot was split and the dealer grabbed and pocketed a thousand dollar chip from each players half of the winnings. Reports as to how the dealer got the chips off the table seem are still unclear, some say the dealer, named Tony simply palmed the chips, perhaps between his forfinger and pinky, until he was able to get them into his pocket, others say the dealer actually used a hold-out devise, meant for cheating at poker by stashing cards up ones sleeve, to hang on to the palmed poker chip while the dealer flipped his hands up for the camera’s to see, as dealers do every time they touch the poker chips.
