World Poker Tour starts Season Eight

The WPT (World Poker Tour) announced the schedule and details for its upcoming eighth season in the United States. This season will be highlighted by the return of several popular poker tournaments and will have its first ever televised event from the Midwest. The Hollywood Poker Open, the event to be televised, will be played in Lawrenceberg, Indiana.

“As this great game has evolved over the years, we have seen the tour grow and develop into something truly incredible,” said Steve Lipscomb, WPT founder and CEO. “Each year seems to top the last, from stops in exciting new venues to historical moments to break-out players to unbelievable action. We’re looking forward to seeing what the eighth season brings — then watching it broadcast in HD.”

As in the previous seasons of the WPT, events will be held at the Bay 101 in San Jose, the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, Borgata in Atlantic City, Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi, Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut and Commerce Casino in Los Angeles.

The Season’s last tournament will once again be completed with the WPT Championship at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
