When is losing a poker hand good?

Two players on CarbonPoker had 3 of a kind while playing at cash table. ‘Ween10’ and ‘kdawg1979’ were in the hand and at the end it was ‘Ween10’ whose quad 7s would lose to ‘kdawg1979’s quad queens. At that point the Bad Beat Jackpot bells and whistles sounded. Ween10 would get paid an incredible $257,089.81 while kdawg1979 won $60.92 for the hand and $128,544.90 of the Jackpot.

The other seven players at the table also received more than $18k for being at the right table at the right time.

The Merge Network, which includes CarbonPoker , has the lowest qualifying hand in the online poker industry for the Bad Beat Jackpot. This is the second time this year that players have hit the Jackpot. CarbonPoker spokesman, Jay Manning states, "The size of the Jackpot was really getting our players excited. Though this jackpot wasn't as big as our world record $1.2million jackpot won in February, when you are talking about this level of payout, it becomes life changing. Every day that it builds, we are getting more players on the Bad Beat tables. You get players literally hoping to lose. One of them finally got their wish."

The Bad Beat Jackpot on the Merge Network is already back up to over $160,000.
