WSOPC Bayou Poker Challenge Final Table Set
The second day of the World Series of Poker Circuits Bayou Poker Challenge Main Event started out with 62 remaining players. With only 18 of those players making the money out of the original 167, the action has heated and strong early in the day.
Players were busting out at an alarming rate. Frank Vizza, WSOPC Atlantic City final table player, was sent home after his Aces were cracked by another players flopped straight. Nick Ceci, the events defending champ, was another player whose luck ran out before the money.
David Woo, who won his WSOP bracelet last year, ran into a cooler when his flopped set of 5s fell to a flopped set of Jacks. David busted out just 8 places short of the money, just before the second break. With David's departure, Dan Schmiech was the last remaining player who has a WSOP bracelet (won in 2005). Dan had the misfortune of running his AK into Jean 'Prince' Gaspard's pocket Queens. Dan finished in 19th place, earning the title of bubble-boy for this event. With no WSOP bracelet holders left, Dwyte Pilgrim was the last player with any WSOP-bling. He won his WSOP Circuit Championship ring last month at Harrah's Rincon (he also has a ring from a preliminary event win). Dwyte was caught bluffing and sent packing in 18th place, earning $13,982. Players continued to depart at a good clip. Top online pro Shaun Deeb got his Aces cracked by pocket 3s (flopped set) and then shipped the rest of his chips to the same player when his AQ ran into pocket Aces. Shaun was ousted in 14th place ($15,979). Matt Brady suffered a similar fate. His AK got snapped off by AQ when a four-flush hit the board. He was left short-stacked and got caught on his third all-in shove holding 8-high. Matt finished 13th ($15,979). Just before 11pm, Richard Kirsch ran pocket 2s into Jean Gaspard's pocket 4s and was busted in 10th place. That set the stage for the final table with these nine players: Player -- Chips -- Seat Jean 'Prince' Gaspard -- 804,000 -- 5 Billy 'Patrolman35' Kopp -- 644,000 -- 8 Daniel Walsh -- 553,000 -- 7 Kenny Milam -- 389,000 -- 1 Justin 'LockDownTex' Allen -- 303,000 -- 3 Ken Christopher -- 232,000 -- 6 Steven McKoy -- 182,000 -- 9 Anita Vasquez -- 118,000 -- 4 Kurt Scheer -- 115,000 -- 2 Payout for the final 9 players will be as follows: Place -- Payout 1* -- $211,722 2 -- $127,832 3 -- $ 81,892 4 -- $63,916 5 -- $49,934 6 -- $39,948 7 -- $31,958 8 -- $25,966 9 -- $21,971 *Includes $10,000 seat in the 2009 WSOP main event.
