Howard Lederer Joins Poker Players Alliance Board

The Poker Players Alliance has a new member on their board of directors, and he has one of the best poker resumes out there. The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) announced that world-renowned professional poker player, Howard Lederer, will be joining their board.

"I am thrilled that Howard has agreed to join our board," explained Michael Bolcerek, president of the Poker Players Alliance. "Howard's reputation within the poker community and his ongoing efforts on behalf of our organization and poker players to defend the game from attacks by Congress and others make him a great addition to the board."

The Poker Players Alliance is a grassroots organization with 27,000 members. The group’s focus is the education of the public and government towards poker, and lately have been working on convincing the American government that online poker should not be banned. The PPA board already includes Linda Johnson, Greg Dinkin, Mary Magazine and Jan Fisher.

And Howard Lederer is no stranger to the world of poker and its current political state. In April, Howard Lederer joined forces with fellow poker players Chris Ferguson and Greg Raymer for a discussion with Congress on why the recent attack on online poker is not fair.

"Poker is under attack by Congress, and I believe that all poker players should join the PPA and tell Capitol Hill that we do not want the Federal government to ban an American tradition that we love," said Howard Lederer.

Howard Lederer has been a powerful person in the poker world since his move to Las Vegas in the mid-90’s – since then he and his sister Annie Duke have a made a reputation as being two of the best poker players around.
