Bad Beat Jackpot Hit at Absolute Poker
If there was ever a time to lose a hand of poker it would be that time when your losing hand wins you lots of money.
On Absolute Poker over the weekend, that event happened. The Bad Beat Jackpot was won
by EMILIE14, a 28 year old Florida resident. EMILIE14 was seated at one of the Bad Beat
tables at Absolute when she hit a jack high straight flush. But there was one player whose hand was just a little better. PEACE2UALL was holding a royal flush, thus beating the jack high straight flush and triggering the winning of the Bad Beat Jackpot, which was worth several hundred thousand dollars.
Even with the losing hand, EMILIE14 took home $270,843.03 of the more than $800K jackpot. PEACE2UALL was awarded almost $133K for winning the pot. Two other players seated at the table that saw the flop on the hand each won $1678.25.
The payouts totaled 65% of the jackpot. The other 35% being held over to seed the new jackpot, which will be built fifty cents at a time on AP’s jackpot tables until another player has quad eights or better beaten.
