PokerStars Macau to Launch at the Grand Lisboa on March 19th

PokerStars, the world's largest online poker company has announced the grand opening of their new live poker room at the Grand Lisboa Casino, to be opened on March 19, 2009. The poker room will be located on the 2nd floor of te famous Grand Lisboa in Macau. PokerStars Macau is set to be te largest poker room on the Asian Continent with 22 tables that will hold Texas Hold'em poker tournaments and 24-hour cash games.

PokerStars Macau in the Grand Lisboa will host the largest regular weekly poker tournaments in Asia. The 'Macau Poker Cup' series event will be played every other month. The Poker room will also host the annual Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Macau Poker Festival.

No entrance fee games, freeroll tournaments, will be available weekly for new poker players as well as great events for poker players of all skill levels. Players can either register or qualify online for any of the hosted evets or they can register live in the poker room.

The opening on the weekend of 19-22 March will celebrate the return of the "Macau Poker Cup" and its signature HKD 10,000 buy-in "Red Dragon" event. For the first time ever, the Red Dragon will have a guaranteed minimum prize pool of HKD 500,000. Numerous other events will be held during the Macau Poker Cup, including a HKD 1,000 buy-in charity event the proceeds of which will be donated to Caritas Macau.
