California man wins WSOPC Lake Tahoe event

Clint Baskin from Stockton, Calif., beat out 110 entries at the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Lake Tahoe event to take home more than $370,000 in prize money.

This was the 32-year-old plumber's first major tournament win.

Baskin outlasted the likes of 2000 world poker champion Chris "Jesus" Ferguson and 1995 world poker champion Dan Harrington, as well as former WSOP gold bracelet winners Billy Baxter, "Miami" John Cernuto, Allen Cunningham, Chau Giang, Barry Greenstein, John Juanda, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, and Bob Stupak to make it to the final table.

Other players that made it to the nine-man final table were Brian Fidler, Tony Le, Robert Cheung, Justin Scott, J.C. Tran, Joe DuBois, Matt Russell, and Jamin Stokes.

Baskin went into the final table third in the chip count following Fidler, Daniel Negreanu's protégé, who was first and Tony Le who was second. Ten hours and close to 250 hands later, Baskin had all the chips and the prestigious gold and diamond ring presented to every World Series of Poker Circuit champion.

Final table results are as follows:

Place Name Prize
1st Clint Baskin $372,240
2nd Brian Fidler $206,800
3rd Tony Le $113,740
4th Robert Cheung $82,720
5th Justin Scott $72,380
6th J.C. Tran $62,040
7th Joe DuBois $51,700
8th Matt Russell $41,360
9th Jamin Stokes $31,020
