Man robs poker room, gets 11 day jail term for conspiracy

A superior court in Micronesia has given an 11 day jail sentence to a man who has been found guilty of conspiring to stage an armed robbery at a poker arcade in San Antonio.

Judge Ramona V. Manglona, an associate judge in Micronesia, has sentenced 20 year old Clifford Jack Palacios Masga to 30 days in jail, with all but 11 of those days suspended, for conspiracy to commit robbery.

Masga was given credit for the 11 days he has already served in prison.

The defendant was also placed on probation for a six month period as will be required to pay a $500 fine, $100 in court fees and a $60 annual probation fee.

In addition to the fines and fees Masga must pay Golden Poker $1,011.25, his share of the restitution. He is also required to write an apology letter to the Golden Poker Casino and perform 100 hours of community service. Another term of the sentence is that Masga will have to complete a General Education Development program during the term of his probation.

Masga, Anthony Campos, Michael Jordan Palacios, and Patrick C. Ito were arrested in April 2007 for reportedly conspiring to rob Golden Poker Game Room on April 12 that year.

Masga signed a plea agreement with the government. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery.

Police said three masked men, armed with a crowbar, pipe, and hammer, robbed the Golden Poker of $4,045 cash. The robbery happened in the wake of several poker robberies on Saipan.
