Hellmuth Highlights New Poker After Dark Episodes

New Set of Episodes Debuted

Two nights ago another round of Poker After Dark debuted on NBC at 2:05 a.m. with some old faces and some new ones, but lots of loud ones!

The self-proclaimed greatest player in the world, Phil Hellmuth, is set to take on five other vocal competitors — Todd Brunson, Phil Gordon, David Grey, Gabe Kaplan, and Cory Zeidman — where the overall winner is set to receive $120,000.

Not only are the six players known for speaking their minds, many of them have personal history with others at the table. Zeidman and Kaplan got into a feud after Kaplan criticized Zeidman’s play on High Stakes Poker, and Hellmuth and Gordon have never been shy of engaging one another when they’re at the same table.

Hellmuth and Kaplan are both competing for their third PAD title in a six-handed format, while it is Brunson and Zeidman’s first time on the show. Gordon is 0-3, while Grey finished second in his only previous appearance.

Last week, the new season of Poker After Dark debuted, featuring players who came close, but ultimately failed to win the World Series of Poker main event. Mike Matusow won the six-handed tournament, beating Andy Black heads up.

Following this week’s new episodes, a set of reruns will air next week. The next batch of new episodes will premiere on Feb. 9, with an episode entitled, “Brilliant Minds,” featuring Chris Ferguson and Andy Bloch.
