Bellagio Hosts Tournaments on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

Deep Stack tournament to have $540 Buy-in

So, how did your poker year go? With big wins, raking in pots left and right. Or was is a terrible year with bad beats all over?

Whether it was a good year or bad year, you can still try to end it on a positive note as well as start of the New Year well. The Bellagio Poker Room is hosting two big events for the holiday, one on Dec 31st and one on Jan 1st.

These two tournaments will feature a $540 buy-in for each day and use the normal daily tournament structure with 40 minute blinds. The only difference will be that instead of starting with 6000 chips, players will begin with a deep stack of 15,000.

“A lot of players are very excited for the 15,000 in chips,” said Rob Moore, Bellagio’s poker tournaments supervisor.

Moore said that he expects about 100 players to show up for the New Year’s Day tournament, which begins at 2 p.m. As far as the New Year’s Eve tournament, which starts at 5 p.m., he says that tournament is a little harder to estimate since many players might have already made other plans for the evening.

This is the first year such tournaments will be hosted by the Bellagio.

Single table satellites will begin at 9 a.m. each day. After 10 players pony up $130 to enter, the final two competitors will earn a $540 seat, as well as $30 in cash.
