Looking ahead to the 2009 WSOP

More than $9 million was won by this years World Series of Poker Main Event Champ Peter Eastgate, a Danish poker pro. Now is the time to think about next year’s event!

Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City will host the first circuit event of the 2009 World Series of Poker which will run from December 5th to the 18th. This WSOP Circuit event is scheduled to include 14 tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from $200 to $5000 in games including Turbo No Limit Hold’em and No Limit Hold’em.
This event’s championship last year had a total purse of more than $1 million.
Harrah’s Atlantic City Casino will have more than 120 tables ready for action, which is sure to attract some big poker talent to the tables. Not to mention that the winner of the final event will qualify for a seat to the $10,000 Main Event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. That prize is in addition to any prize money won from the circuit victory.
The winner of each event will receive a WSOP ring, except the Ladies Only No Limit Hold’em event in which the winner will receive a championship pendant.
Interested participants can register now 24 hours a day at the casino cashiers on the casino floor at Harrah's Resort. Beginning at 9 a.m. Dec. 5, players can register at the ballroom on the third floor. Registration must be in person and all registrants must have a Total Rewards card, which may be obtained at either the Poker Room or the Total Rewards Center.
Additional information is available at www.worldseriesofpoker.com or by calling the tournament hotline at (609) 441-5741.
