Poker machines, drugs seized in raid
SANFORD - A man who is on probation for possessing four pounds of marijuana in January was arrested this week on charges of having cocaine, marijuana, several illegal poker machines, and thousands of dollars worth of stolen goods in a storage shed near his home.
Drug agents with the Lee County Sheriff's Office raided a storage shed on 11th Street in Sanford and found seven ounces of cocaine, four ounces of marijuana, several hundred prescription pills, and seven illegal video poker machines.
Also seized were several power tools and building supplies, valued at "thousands of dollars," which deputies believe to have been stolen.
The man deputies arrested at the scene was Marty Evan Hall, 38, of 520 Charlotte Ave. Hall was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a building for drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The stolen goods are estimated to be worth at least $16,000, according to a detective with the sheriff's office. The items are believed to have been taken from Lowe's Hardware and Wal Mart, although detectives noted that not all of the victims had been identified yet.
Hall was charged in January by the same drug unit with possessing four pounds of marijuana. He pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and was placed on probation.
Hall was placed in the Lee County Jail under $100,000 secured bond. Lee County Sheriff Tracy Carter said the case remains under investigation and that additional charges are likely.
