SWCC 0.35, 0.00, 0.0%) announced today that Running Aces Harness Park, in which Southwest owns a 50% membership interest, will host the 10th Annual Trent Tucker Celebrity Poker Tournament on Thursday, September 11, 2008. The tournament begins at 7 p.m. with proceeds benefiting the Trent Tucker Non-Profit Organization, which has been dedicated for the past seven years to empowering youth to make positive choices, increase self-respect and develop a vision for the future.
This is the public's chance to play poker against former NBA superstars Michael Jordan and Charles Oakley and professional poker players Marcel "The Flying Dutchman" Luske and Michelle Lau. Other celebrity card players expected to participate include: Minnesota Viking Darren Sharper, former Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Flip Saunders, former Chicago Bulls Ron Harper and Brad Sellars, professional baseball player Kenny Lofton, Gopher basketball player and Timberwolves coach J.B. Bickerstaff, and B96 radio personality Trey Barber. To earn a spot at a tournament poker table, the public can either buy-in at $1,250 a seat or have won one of Running Aces' satellite tournaments. The tournament is not limited to just card players. For $50, people can mingle with the celebrities from the sports and entertainment worlds at Running Aces Harness Park and enjoy hors d'oeuvres from the Winner's Circle Dining and Lounge.
