Shooting blamed on poker bets

A shooting last week in Vaughan, Ont., which sent three men with ties to murdered mobster Enio Mora to the hospital, is rumored to have been triggered by a poker bet. The three were shot Thursday while they sat outside an Italian social club.

Vaughan Mayor Michael Di Biase has said he heard the incident was most likely the result of an unpaid debt from an illegal card game. Whatever the reason, police believe it was a deliberate attack rather than a random shooting.

The shooter opened fire on the victims them while they were seated at a table in front of the club before climbing into a black SUV and fleeing the scene.

The victims, whose names haven't yet been released, suffered varying levels of injury: the 56-year-old man had a gunshot wound to the arm, the 26 year-old-man was shot in the arm and stomach, and the 55-year-old man was hit in the stomach.
