Continental Airlines Awards 21 Million Flier Miles In Poker

One of the benefits of poker is that there are endless ways to get people to join a tournament. Continental Airlines has used a frequent flier grand prize to get people to join in their OnePass 21st Birthday Texas Hold'em Tournament in Las Vegas.

The tournament took place at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino. The tournament was part of the festivities that celebrated twenty one years of frequent flying for Continental customers.

"Continental's award winning OnePass frequent flyer program has recognized our customers with outstanding benefits for more than two decades and we look forward to continuing this service for many years to come," said Executive Vice President of Marketing for Continental, Jim Compton.

The winner of the poker tournament was Bill Shiver. He has been playing poker for four years now, and is pleased with his first place prize. "It was a wonderful experience. I didn't talk to anyone, win or lose, who didn't have a great time. I feel very fortunate and really lucky to be the winner," said Shiver.

All of the top ten finishers in the tournament received frequent flyer miles. David Michaels finished in second place and received one million miles. Spots three through ten all were awarded prizes ranging from 100,000 to 500,000 miles.
