WSOP Designates Card Player As Official Magazine and Internet Provider for 2006
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2006--Harrah's License Company LLC, an affiliate of Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. has agreed in principle to designate Card Player, the world's leading poker media company, as the Official Magazine and website content provider for the 2006 World Series of PokerŪ Presented by Milwaukee's Best Light.
The agreement in principle is non-binding, and is subject to definitive documentation.
"Working with the World Series of Poker once again demonstrates Card Player's commitment to providing the world's premier poker multimedia coverage and we are excited to be the official magazine of the World Series of Poker," said Card Player Media Chairman Barry Shulman.
"We're thrilled to be in business with Card Player," said Jeffrey Pollack, Commissioner of the World Series of Poker. "Real-time online coverage of our tournament will be better than ever and satisfy the information needs of fans worldwide. There will be only three online sources for our official news, updates and results: Card Player, WorldSeriesofPoker.com, and AOL."
Card Player Media will bring its 18 years of experience to the table and provide in-depth coverage of the biggest poker event on the planet.
Under the agreement in principle, Card Player Media will offer live hand-by-hand reporting from the tournament floor, streaming videos of player interviews, event recaps and behind-the-scenes action, and real-time chips counts on its web site, www.cardplayer.com. In addition, Card Player will be the official content provider for www.worldseriesofpoker.com, the World Series of Poker's official website, and provide its content to AOL.
Card Player will also publish the Official Program of the 2006 World Series of Poker and produce a daily on-site poker newspaper for the duration of the tournament, which is scheduled for June 25 to August 10, 2006, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
