The Canadian Poker Tour and the World Poker Showdown Complete Strategic Alliance to Market Upcoming Events

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2008) - The Canadian Poker Tour, the recently acquired poker brand of HeadsUp Entertainment International Inc. (the "Company") (PINK SHEETS:HDUP) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic marketing alliance with the World Poker Showdown to enhance and promote each others series of events.

The Canadian Poker Tour (CPT) is launching its 2008 season with the first event beginning this Wednesday in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with the Calgary Classic at the Cash Casino (http://www.canadianchampionshippoker.com/Events/). There will be a series of tournaments across the country in which winners from each main event will qualify for the televised CPT Invitational Finals to be held January 20-22, 2009 as part of the World Poker Showdown's series of events held at the Ocean World Casino in the Dominican Republic.

The World Poker Showdown (http://worldpokershowdown.com/) over the past 5 years has held a number of fun and affordable poker tournaments in exotic locations throughout the Caribbean and southern Central America and is the leader in vacation destination poker getaways. The CPT looks to host 12-14 tournaments across Canada that will all be qualifying events for the CPT Finals and players can qualify to attend in a couple of ways. First, all main event winners will automatically be invited with buy-ins, travel and accommodations being part of their qualifying tournament victories. Secondly, all CPT registered events will have a Players Point System in which the top points leaders from the 2008 season will receive invitations to the Final Event. The player which wins the CPT Finals will receive in addition to the cash portion of the prize pool, a year long sponsorship contract to represent the CPT in a series of events internationally including The Main Event of The World Series of Poker, The European Poker Tour, The World Poker Showdown and a number of Canadian Poker Tour Events.

The CPT is currently finalizing a number of events from Vancouver to Halifax and invites players to check its website for updated tournament listings. The next event following the Calgary Classic will be the Stampede Classic July 4-13 in Calgary which will feature daily qualifying $350 buy-in go-rounds that lead up to the Main Event featuring a $3000 buy in and estimated prize pool of over $350,000.
