WSOP year of the pros?

Some people are saying that the WSOP this year is the year of the pros. We have seen several pro poker players win bracelets already this year including Daniel Negreanu, who won his 4th. Other pros that have won bracelets so far are Nenad Medic, Mike Matusow, Barry Greenstein, and Erick Lindgren.

Will this trend continue through the rest of the series? No one knows, but Phil Hellmuth is hoping that it does and that he will be able to win his 12th bracelet. Hellmuth has already broken his own records of most cashes in the WSOP twice this year. As he goes into todays play he has a record 65 WSOP cashes to his credit.

Another trend that has been seen is the amount of hours that final table playing and especially heads up action is taking. Several games thus far have take several hours to crown a winner, sometimes as much as 6 hours of heads up play.

On tap for today are the final tables for events 32 and 33, Day 2 of events 34 and 35, and starting play for events 36 and 37.
