Strip poker to be included in next WSoP event
LAS VEGAS, NV — The World Series of Poker, held annually in Las Vegas, has grown considerably in recent years, thanks to national television exposure. This year, things promise to get even bigger.
For the first time ever, organizers of the World Series of Poker have decided to put together an event that people have been clamoring for – strip poker.
“It’s something we’d been considering, and finally decided to give it the go ahead,” said a top World Series of Poker official. “We grew so fast for a while, but things have tailed off a bit in the last year or so. Everybody around the office really thinks the naked chicks will spur some more growth.”
Tournament organizers are reportedly ecstatic about the new event. There are numerous different games involved in the World Series rotation – from No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha Hold ‘Em to Seven-Card Stud.
There will be a $500 buy-in for the strip poker event, and winners will be the ones who are still wearing clothing. There is no limit on the number of players, so each table at the event will have a single winner, until eventually a final eight is determined. From there, a winner will take home the grand prize, which varies depending on the number of players.
Those looking for a cheap thrill may be disappointed, however. “We are a little worried that there may be far more men playing in this than women,” said the World Series official. “It is certainly not inconceivable – in fact, it’s quite probable – that there will be numerous tables of only men playing. So if you’re afraid of possibly seeing a 60-year-old man’s twig and berries, it could be awkward at moments. Then again, we’ll obviously do our best to have the TV coverage focus on the best-looking people in the tourney.”
Perhaps most interestingly, there is no room for bashful entrants. Should a player decide he or she no longer wishes to play before the game is over, there is a $250 exit fee – “in order to dissuade people who might only want a free peep show.”
