Casinos Poland Hosts Poker

Casinos Poland is to host the premier European Poker Tour (EPT) for the eastern European nation, the Polish Open 2008, from March 11 to 15 at the company’s casino in the Hyatt Hotel in Warsaw.

The Polish Open is to be a five-day Texas hold’ em no-limit tournament capped at 400 players with buy-ins starting at $8,600 and a total prize pool of up to $3.28 million.


Casinos Poland is part owned by Century Casinos and stated that the EPT, now in its fourth season, is Europe’s richest and most popular poker tour with events televised for broadcast throughout the world. The third season of the EPT saw sell-out $7,350 buy-in tournaments in Barcelona, London, Copenhagen, Dortmund and Warsaw. The season’s show piece event, the $14,700 buy-in EPT Grand Final, attracted a record field of 706 players with a prize pool of $9.7 million, making it the richest tournament ever held outside Las Vegas. Last season’s total prize pool came in at $39.1 million with over 3,400 contestants.
