3 poker robbery suspects still in custody charged anew

Micronesia -- THREE poker robbery suspects who are still in custody while their case is pending in court have been charged again for other poker robbery incidents.

The Attorney General’s Office filed charges of conspiracy to commit robbery against Marlon Martin, 24, Quincy Oiterong, 31, and Steven Suzuki, 23.

The three were already charged with conspiracy and attempted robbery, solicitation to commit robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon for conspiring to try to rob Susupe Poker on June 6, 2007.

Oiterong was charged for assaulting the cashier with a machete during the incident.

The three defendants were all arrested on the same day and were prosecuted in court for that offense.

On Tuesday, Chief Prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. filed an information in court charging Martin, Oiterong and Suzuki for conspiring to rob MGM Poker on June 6, 2007.

Warfield also charged Martin with robbery for taking $1,660 from Grand Poker in Koblerville on May 25, 2007, and Oiterong with one count of accessory after the fact for assisting an offender in order to avoid apprehension on May 25, 2007.

Martin was likewise charged with one count of robbery for taking $3,000 from Moon Night Poker on June 1, 2007, and Oiterong with one count of robbery as a principal for inducing or procuring the commission of robbery on June 1, 2007.

The three defendants, who are still in the custody of the Department of Corrections, were all summoned to appear in court on Feb. 4 at 9 a.m.

Police reported more than 10 poker armed robberies in 2007 and among the establishments robbed were Golden Poker in Afetnas, Moon Night Poker in Chalan Kanoa, Grand Poker in Koblerville, Susupe Poker in Susupe, MGM Poker and Smile Poker.
