ElkY" Grospellier Wins the 2008 Poker Stars PCA

With a $2,000,000 first place finish on the line ElkY (who is part of the France Team Poker Stars) takes down the tournament and a new title.

When it came down to a final table heads up match against professional players Hafiz Khan ElkY was able to dominate and send his opponent home packing. Although both players were in some serious money at this point with first place taking home $2 Million and 2nd receiving half of that, both players were close to even as far as chip count was concerned. ElkY was dominating with 13,000,000 with Kahn sitting on 9,000,000 chips.

ElkY took down the first big pot from Kahn when he trapped him with his set on the board taking close to 1.5 million in chips but this would not be the hand that would do Hafiz in.

ElkY raised and Kahn pushed back with all his chips. ElkY made the final decision to risk it all in what could have turned around and gave Kahn the chip lead with pocket 8's. Instead he had luck at his side when his eights held against Kahn’s 9 ultimately declaring him the winner and receiving the $2,000,000 prize.

ElkY is a Team Poker Stars Pro and plays for France. He qualified for the Caribbean Adventure on Poker Stars where the other half of this year's players also found their seats for the PCA. ElkY has been one of Pokerstars leading professional players and was recognized as the first online player to achieve VIP Club Supernova status and the first to reach SuperNova Elite level.
