Joe Hachem & Shane Warne Set To Go All In For Charity

Russell Crowe, Fifi Box, Dave Hughes, Glenn Robbins, Livinia Nixon, Nathan Buckley and Aaron Hamill to name a few will be among the celebrities volunteering their time to hit the felts at Crown Melbourne next Friday November 30 for the biggest charity poker event held in the country.

Joe Hachem and Shane Warne have both succeeded at the highest levels of their chosen fields and for the first time, the cricket great and world poker champion are combining their talents, for the good of charity.

‘The Joe Hachem & Shane Warne Charity Poker Tournament’ will be staged in the High Limit Area of the Crown Poker Room and is open to the public. It will be a $1000 buy-in event, with $500 re-buys and first prize will be a guaranteed $25,000, with the other five final table qualifiers pocketing $5000 each. Joe Hachem and Shane Warne will then join the final table as they battle it out, unfortunately they can't win the Tournament, but they'll be keeping the final six players honest!

In addition, guests will have the opportunity to bid on auction items that will range from a walk-on role in Hugh Jackman's new film Wolverine, to 18 holes at Crown's Capital Golf Club with Joe and Shane or dinner for eight with Joe & Shane at Robert De Niro's new restaurant NOBU followed by a night of poker. The evening will kick off with learn-to-play sessions from 6-7pm, before the tournament officially begins at 7pm. Guests will enjoy a preview of Wild Turkey Bourbon's exclusive premium bourbo, American Spirit, yet to be released in Australia, while they play.

All proceeds will go directly to The Shane Warne Foundation, which is committed to raising funds for the seriously ill and underprivilaged children of Australia, now and in the future. In the past 18 months TSWF have distributed over $750,000 to Australian charities that work hands on with kids that fit this mould and the goal for 2007 is to have distributed over $2 Million. WIld Turkey Bourbon has come on board as a sponsor to support their Ambassador, Joe Hachem, in his charitable endeavours.
