Armed Robbery at Poker Game

West Virginia -- Some men playing poker in Putnam County were each dealt a very bad hand

The sheriff's department says two women held up that poker game and got away with tens of thousands of dollars.

Some people play poker for fun, but when the stakes are high, losing can be even harder. Well last week all six players at one game in Teays Valley say they lost big when two women decided to rob them.

“This is uncommon thing. Uncommon from the fact that it was a poker game and also the fact it was committed by two females. You don't usually see females doing armed robberies,” Sheriff Mark Smith said.

Police say behind this door is where the game was being played. They say these women both had guns and were dressed in camouflage when they told the players to give them a bag that was filled with $27,000.

Jeff Gillenwater with A&A Mechananical can't believe it happened here.

“I thought it was all storage really. I’ve seen people go in and out but I thought it was just for storage,” Jeff Gillenwater of Hurricane said.

Police say Kimberly Steinbrecher turned herself in and admitted to playing the dangerous game, saying she and Jacqueline Dennis were behind the poker robbery. Now deputies say they need your help to find Dennis who is still on the run.

If you have any information about where Jacqueline Dennis may be you're asked to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Dennis is from Kenova, and is considered armed and dangerous.
