Poker players show some heart
Last Sunday week poker players from Dubbo, Grenfell, Parkes and Condobolin join with local players at the Forbes Services Golf Club to raise money for the Heart Foundation Charity.
“Over $1600 was raised during the day, well done to all who donated,” District Manager for Australian Poker League, Matt Lindsay, said.
“The Australian Poker League donated a ticket into their prestigious Tournament of Championship which the players were playing to win.
“Harvey Norman donated four clocks and the APL also donated autographed cards from Gus Hansen and Joe Hachem.
“Greg Smith from Dubbo won the major prize which was the TOC seat.
“He played a great game against some tough competition.
“Anthony Joyce from Grenfell came second and Chris Stibbard from Parkes was third.
“There was also a raffle on the day which Forbes Services Club donated a holiday for two and the Forbes Cinemas donated six adult tickets. “It was a great Day and thanks to all who participated,” Lindsay said.
