Holland Casino's European Poker Tournament Increasingly Popular

Poker is becoming increasingly popular at Holland Casino.

This is
apparent, for example, from the large number of entries for the 16th edition
of the Master Classics of Poker in Holland Casino Amsterdam. 2,080 entry
tickets have already been sold. The Master Classics of Poker is one of
Europe's largest and best known international poker tournaments. The world's
best poker players from countries such as the USA, France, the United
Kingdom, Russia, Austria and Germany and from Scandinavia will play poker
with one another for the prizes from Friday 2 to Saturday 10 November. In
addition to well-known Dutch poker players such as Jorryt van Hoof, Marcel
Lüske, Rob Hollink and Noah Boeken, the event has attracted international
poker stars, including Erich Kollmann, Martin Vallo, Simon Trumper and Mickey
Finn. Last year the total prize fund was over EUR 3.3 million.

The main tournament of the Holland Casino Master Classics of Poker is the
Lido Poker Tournament. This tournament will be held from Wednesday 7 to
Saturday 10 November and has a buy-in of EUR 5,000, plus an entry fee of EUR
100. The total of the buy-ins is paid out as prize money. Last year's winner
of the Lido Poker Tournament, Alex Jalali of Germany, received EUR 690,000.
Those who make it to the final table this year are assured of participation
in the 2008 Lido tournament. Holland Casino Amsterdam will give these
finalists an entry ticket to next year's main tournament. Owing to the great
popularity of the tournament the maximum number of participants has been
increased this year to 400. If tickets are still available, the spectacular
'one-hand satellites' will be held on 7 November, from 1.30 p.m. Ten players
pay EUR 510 each to play just one hand to decide who wins a ticket for the
main tournament.

The Master Classics of Poker consists of eight tournaments featuring the
poker variants Texas Hold'em and Omaha. The buy-in for each tournament varies
from EUR 120 to EUR 5,100. Naturally, the amount of the prize money depends
on the number of participants. The tournaments start daily at 2 p.m., with
the exception of the Lido Tournament, which starts at 3 p.m. More MCOP
information can be found at http://www.masterclassicsofpoker.com.
