Camping trip strip poker nets suspension

A teacher for a Christian school in Idaho has been suspended after an alleged game of strip poker during a school outing.

A teacher for the Lake City Junior Academy in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho was suspended and will possibly be fired after he was accused of playing strip poker with several students during a recent camping trip.

Principal for the school, Twila Brown, reported the incident to the Kootenai County sheriff’s office on Saturday. The incident allegedly took place during a school trip in late April.

The teacher, Andy Armstrong of Coeur D'Alene, was immediately suspended from the private Christian school, Brown said. Brown told a sheriff's deputy that Armstrong played the card game - in which losers must remove articles of clothing - with several boys, who were told not to tell anyone.
Armstrong, 42, declined to comment when reached at his home Tuesday.


The Upper Columbia Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church operates the camp and the Lake City Junior Academy.


The school said Armstrong has been a physical education and science teacher in fifth through 10th grades, with 11 years of experience.
