Social workers take poker pro's son away

A nine-year-old boy was taken away from his foster home from social workers because of his dad playing poker.

The child's natural mother had converted to Islam and claimed that gambling was against her new religious beliefs and she didn't want her biological son to be around it.

The foster parents of this young man had to watch the social workers take the confused boy away when he arrived home from school.

The problem with this situation I see is this. The social services were well aware that the foster parent played poker professionally when he was approved as a foster parent so how is this sane?

The father said, "This is political correctness gone bonkers. The poor kid couldn't understand what was going on. He thought he had done something wrong." Speaking for his wife and himself he added, "We expected him to be with us forever."

The Foster Care Association's response to media was "We asked the foster father to stop playing poker at home but he refused."
