PlayersOnly Poker wraps up WSOP giveaway
The day of the World Series of Poker Main Event is fast approaching, which means PlayersOnly Poker's $150 WSOP Giveaways campaign is also nearing its end. The final satellite tournament will take place Sunday night.
Sunday will also be the final day for participants to place bids in the Low Bid Auction for a World Series of Poker seat. Bids can be placed until midnight Sunday online at PlayersOnly Poker or by text messaging via cell phone.
The lowest, unique bid in the auction will win a 2007 WSOP Main Event seat.
"Of course, I can't divulge which bid amounts still don't have unique bids on them yet, or which bids already have multiple bids," said David Anderson, PlayersOnly Poker manager. "But I can tell you that this $12,000 prize package could easily go for peanuts!"
If you're not willing to wait and see if your bid is the winner, you can always put your poker skills to use instead to win the final seat offered from PlayersOnly Poker.
The final satellite on Sunday costs $100 to buy in, or you can win your way into the satellite through qualifying free roll tournaments that take place twice a day at the poker site.
The winner will receive a $12,000 WSOP prize package that includes the buy-in for the main event plus travel and accommodations.
The poker site concedes that some of the winners of the satellites that have been running weekly since April may just take the prize money and not go to the WSOP, but at least one winner is eager to test his luck in the world's largest poker tournament.
"Oh, I'm definitely going to Vegas!" said one winner in a podcast interview. "I've got my plane ticket and my room at the Rio - deal me in!"
