International players to advise WSOP

The World Series of Poker has assembled some of the game's biggest foreign imports for new International Players Advisory Council designed to court players from outside North America.

The council will consult with WSOP management on ways to enhance the player experience for international registrants.

Among the players who've already committed to terms with the group are Australia's Joe Hachem, Andy Black and Donnacha O'Dea of Ireland, Ben Roberts and Willie Tan from England, Dane Gus Hansen, the Flying Dutchman, Marcel Luske and Canadian Isabelle Mercier.

Wendeen Eolis, an noted poker player and business executive, will serve as chairwoman while WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack is executive chairman.

"More and more players are coming from outside the United States, while at the same time we are expanding our reach with new international events," Pollack said in a release. "This council will help us better address the unique needs of our global players."

"Our goal is to have a clear communications process and give everyone new perspectives to consider," he added.
