sbrugby soars, Benyamine flounders online

At the big cash games, the highs are high and the lows are low. In May, high-stakes player sbrugby - whose real name is Brian Townsend - is up $1.6 million and pro David Benyamine is down $1.8 million online.

In 128 No-Limit Hold'em sessions monitored by the Web site High Stakes Database, Townsend has pulled in $743,000 this month alone. His Pot-Limit Omaha game was just as sharp in May, seeing him win $867,000 in 120 sessions.

In his blog, Townsend details some of the hands that padded his bankroll, some from games played with Benyamine.

"I am very excited as this is my best month ever and it's only the 21st," he wrote last week. "The games have been absolutely amazing and I have been able to play five-six tables at once. Hopefully things continue."

On May 25, Townsend reported he made $400,000 in just one hour and 15 minutes playing Pot-Limit Omaha and No-Limit Hold'em.

Also in the money this month is till_i_collapse, who is up $749,000 in Pot-Limit Omaha and $179,000 on No-Limit Hold'em.

Benyamine, however, hasn't been as fortunate. The French pro is down $1.1 million on Pot-Limit Omaha and $741,000 on No-Limit Hold'em so far this month, according to High Stakes Database.
