SunPoker.com player to hoist Golden Cup

Who needs a gold bracelet when a gold cup and £500,000 is at stake? This June, compete in SunPoker.com's Gold Cup Series of Poker and play in up to seven tournaments for a shot at the big bucks.

Starting June 4, the poker room will host a week's worth of No-Limit and Fixed-Limit Hold'em events with a range of buy-ins.

SunPoker.com players get triple the chips - $4,500 - for preliminary events and $10,000 for the final event. Blinds shoot up every 30 minutes at the £1,000+£50 final June 10.

A schedule of events is as follows:

The series also includes a golden opportunity for the top 15% of finishers in each event. Those players will earn points toward the Best All-Around Player competition, which includes $30,000 in cash and prizes to be awarded to the top four contestants.

First place wins a $10,000 Caribbean Poker Classic Main Event Package, $5,000 cash and a Golden Cup award. Second place receives a $10,000 Caribbean Classic package, while third gets a $4,000 "lite" version of the Caribbean Classic deal. Fourth place earns $1,000 in cash.
