Unknown woman beats E-Dog, Feldman at WPC

The previously unknown Anna Wroblewski took home Event 9, $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em, and became the first female champion at the Fifth Annual Five Star World Poker Classic. On the way to the $337,395 victory, Wroblewski knocked out world-class players Erick "E-Dog" Lindgren, and Peter Feldman.

Erick Lindgren, two-time winner on the World Poker Tour (WPT), busted out of the tournament in eighth place. E-Dog picked up a flush draw on the flop, but didn't improve to beat Wroblewski, who had flopped top pair.

Peter Feldman, who has won two World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) events, was knocked out by Wroblewski in fourth place.

Wroblewski put Feldman all-in when the flop showed Qs-Ts-Kd, and Feldman called. He was, however, in very bad shape with Qh-Tc against Kh-Qc, and no ten came to save him on the turn or river.

Wroblewksi then went on to beat Jonathan Dull heads-up to win the $337,395, a Bellagio bracelet, and entry into the $25,000 WPT Championship.

The win at the Bellagio was her first in a major poker tournament.

Results from Event 9, $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em, 324 entries:

Place Name Prize
1st Anna Wroblewski $337,395
2nd Jonathan Dull $192,640
3rd Abel Meijberg $96,320
4th Peter Feldman $55,025
5th Colin Gordon $41,820
6th Casper Dahl $31,105
7th Thomas Koral $22,935
8th Erick Lindgren $18,345
9th Richard Talerico $14,675
