PPA Chairman D'Amato to host Webcast

Poker players in the U.S. are certainly not giving up their right to play online without a fight. Membership has doubled in the Poker Players Alliance (PPA), and perhaps the most significant new recruit - Senator Alfonse D'Amato - will host an interactive Webcast this week to buoy the troops.

The passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), restricting the transfer of funds from American citizens to offshore gambling companies, was certainly a heavy blow for U.S. online poker players.

But all is not lost: Growing ever closer to its goal of 1 million members, the PPA is now 320,000 players strong, and intent on fighting for their right to play their chosen sport when and how they choose to.

One of the most significant additions to the clan - U.S. Senator Alfonse D'Amato, who joined the PPA to serve as the Chairman of the Board - is set to let everybody know what the future of poker looks like, with an interactive Webcast planned for this Thursday, April 12 at 3 p.m. (EDT).

Poker Players Alliance President Michael Bolcerek is encouraging every member to take part, either by tuning in to listen to the 30-minute Webcast or by emailing questions for the Senator to answer live.

There is no cost, but you'll need to register your by April 10 if you'd like to participate.
