March Madness takes hold at Sportsbook Poker

Usually, the climax of the college basketball season is the heart-wrenching highlight footage shown immediately after the final game, set to the cheesiest song on earth, "One Shining Moment." Sportsbook Poker players, however, will have to wipe away the tears and buck up - they've got some high-stakes poker to play.

The official end of the "madness" at Sportsbook Poker actually won't arrive until sometime in the wee hours after the basketball final, when one of their players will be handed $50,000 as the winner of their $100,000 March Madness freeroll series.

Satellite action has been underway since early February, with open freerolls running twice daily, every day from Monday to Saturday, at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. (EDT).

The top 10 from each daily freeroll have then advanced to a Sunday heat, with a $500 prize pool and the top 20 automatically qualifying for the April 2 final tourney, set to go immediately after the basketball game.

With the Final Four set and the big game fast approaching, time is now running short for the qualifiers as well; the final batch is set for this week and the final Sunday heat will go this Sunday, April 1.

If you do fail to qualify for the last Sunday heat however, no need to sweat - you can still buy-in for $10.

Same goes for the big April 2 final: Direct buy-in is also available for $100.

For all the details, visit Sportsbook Poker.
