Players World Poker Challenged Day 2
Poker's elite answered the call of the World Poker Challenge Sunday, and the best of the best are back in action for Day 2 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada.
Though 88 players broke free of Day 1, only 27 will remain at day's close. A fortunate 45 will be paid, however, from the ample $2.3 million in prize money.
The tournament's 475 players each forked over $5,000 to compete in the four day event, which concludes with the standard televised World Poker Tour final table of six on Wednesday.
An abundance of pros turned out for the World Poker Challenge and though many have hit the bricks - Erik Seidel, Daniel Negreanu, Clonie Gowen, Jeff Madsen, David Sklansky, Antonio Esfandiari among them - still more remain in today's race.
Mike Matusow, Barry Greenstein, Mark Seif and Joe Sebok are a few of those on the hunt for a tournament win on Day 2, though one of the day's early chip leaders, David Williams, is already railside.
